The gorgeous green dress allows her movement, looks stunning, and matches the background of the product nicely too. Qualley does a hand gesture around her eyes which matches a move in the commercial (see the gifs below) and even allude to the product's own eye-like shape. The advertising has visuals and motifs that nicely match one another. only to let out a final outburst that leaves her both happy and totally unhinged looking. Margaret begins the video looking her most "normal" (but also most uncomfortable) and finishes the sequence in a calm and controlled manner.

She utilizes large movements, big gestures, twists, turns, fake weapons, and a hurried stomp as she drifts between different sets (this also adds some "breathing room" between sequences). Several fancy locations keep the footage interesting as she interacts with various settings (and yes, the mirrored staircase had to edit out the camera crew). Margaret manages to find a balance between crazy and controlled movements and is helped by Qualley's own background in ballet. The directing deserves credit too as it places the camera far away enough to keep you in orbit around the dancer, yet at a safe distance from her as she let's it all out. The song is loud, arresting, and Margaret never misses a beat. We get over two solid minutes of her unleashing almost every physical impulse into an aggressively free-spirited dance.

Qualley leaves the event only to very slowly – then very quickly – drop any sense of decorum to explode into a series of wild and frenzied movements. The set-up is quite familiar, a fancy party, and a beautiful girl in a beautiful green dress. The sets are lavish cities, and the video is beautifully directed to effectively convey the scent in a more embellished fashion (with emphasis on the word fashion). Ads often enlist the biggest celebrity and glitz them up in dresses worth several thousand dollars and wearing jewelry that's worth even more. 🌹įor many reasons, they tend to go the angle that displays something something glamorous, artful, thoughtful, and romantic. I think even more egregious is perfume ads. (But we all know your suburban ass is just going to the shopping mall lol).īut whatever. They're for camping out, driving the perfect family, or highlighting all the life-changing trips and power that come with owning one. They feature expansive routes through hills and valleys or show off how incredibly fast and tough they are even on the worst terrain. Some products more than others really go the distance to sell it to you.
